Babymoon

Last Wednesday Tyler and I left bright and early for our BABYMOON!!  It was a combination of celebrations-  Ty finishing grad school/ our 5 year anniversary/and an upcoming baby being born :)

We went to Paradise Island in the Bahamas.  I can't even describe how wonderful it was getting to have Tyler all to myself for 4 days.  Cherissa was amazing to keep Roman for us so we could go.  It was hard for me to leave him but it was great to have someone we trusted watching him!

This was my first time flying (I flew when I was 2 but def didn't remember it :)

We rented a car and was able to do our own site seeing- gas was $5.50/gal!!

We had to get used to driving on the left side of the road- it was so confusing!!

We stayed at the Atlantis resort on Paradise Island

We went to a grocery store to get some snacks and pop.  The carryout boys were in high school and Ty made a fun connection with them and bball.  

Eveything was so expensive!! Juice was almost 10$!

Baby carrots were 3$, pop tarts, chips and crackers were around 7$ a pack!

The drivers were crazy! we had to pay a lot of attention! no signaling- people just drove where they needed to go and looked afterward.  

There were a bunch of different aquariums- It was fun to see all the different fish.

Paradise Isalnd was about 20 miles long and 4 miles wide.  The resort was gigantic- This is in front of the hotel. We figured we walked 5-7 miles a day just going from place to place.

Every night Ty and I went to the 10:00 movie in the resorts theater.  It was a free movie and we LOVED getting to go see some fun films :)

The last day we did some souvenir shopping around Nassau.

The days flew by! We had only limited internet and turned our phones off.  It was fun figuring out what to do each day- I loved being with Tyler.  Even if we were sitting at the beach or in our rooms taking a nap- it was fun to just be together!

Pregnancy Highlights

How Far Along: 27 weeks

Size of baby:  15 in long and a little over 2 lbs

Maternity Clothes: Yes! dresses and Ty's bball shorts are amazing!

Cravings: hummus and cucumbers.

Gender: It's a BOY!!

Movement: Definitely!

How's momma: doing good! I can count on my afternoons of thick ankles and bloating- i'm trying to limit salt intake so it's not so bad.

Best Moment this week Going to the BAHAMAS with my husband!! it was so so amazing! post to come :)

What I am looking forward to:  Another DR appointment on Wednesday :)

Roman: He stayed with Rissa while we were gone this last week and he did amazing! He did better then I did :)  It's crazy how he's grown in these few days we've been gone.  It's so fun to see his speech grow and to see how amazing he comprehends!

24 weeks

Pregnancy Highlights

How Far Along: 24 weeks

Size of baby:  12 inches; 1.3 lbs

Maternity Clothes: Yes!  let the LEGGINGS begin!

Cravings: hummus and cucumbers.

Gender: It's a BOY!!

Movement: oh my goodness can this kid move.  I'm waking up a few times from him moving so much! He's Breach as of now so all his kicking is on the bottom of my tummy- bladder included

How's momma: three weeks with no migraine! thank you yoga!

Best Moment this week Going to the grape festival with my boys was a lot of fun! Also hearing Dr Hill tell me that my weight gain is related to heat, fitness, and second baby was so encouraging!

What I am looking forward to:  This weather is amazing! it's cooling off a bit and I can totally feel the relief!

Roman:  I'm gonna start doing some alphabet puzzles and activities with Roman- I'm making a bucket list of sort of stuff to do with him and Ty before the new baby gets here

He's a MASTER!

HE DID IT!!

This past weekend Tyler went to his last class to wrap up his Masters.  

I am just so proud of him! He worked so hard and so diligently over the last 2 years to get this finished and he did it!

Rome and I took him to Shoguns for some yummy food and to celebrate :)

Rome was a little nervous with the big flames but was quick to want "mo, mo" (more :)

xander's 1!

Alexander turned 1!

We had a fun party on Saturday for sweet baby xander.  It was a polka dot theme. Rissa did such a good job with cute decor and food that was all round like dots :)

Kerwin and Lois came by right before they made the trek to Lexington- it was great to get another round of hugs and goodbyes.

Goodbye Weekend

Within the last couple weeks, we've had some changes.  A big one that changes a lot for us is that Tyler's dad, Kerwin, has left his job in Siloam for an athletic director job over in Lexington KY (where Lois is from).  We are so excited for him and this great opportunity but we are still a bit sad for how it changes things here.  

Kerwin and Lois had been traveling for 3+ weeks and upon return had just over a week to pack and move back to Lexington.  We were fortunate to pull together a quick family outing to celebrate and say goodbye.  

We went to Crystal Bridges over in Bentonville followed by bowling and dinner at Fast Lanes.

 

Roman LOVES "driving." He was stoked to get to drive in the arcade.

 He was also pretty excited to bowl- this was his first time and he was so good about waiting for his turn and believe it or not it KEPT his interest all 10 rounds!

 He thought it was going to be a loud BANG at first.  So cute!

 We ordered the HUGE pizza for our family.  Roman ate two pieces! Who is this kid!?

He had such a blast! It was fun to see him enjoy this- he's growing up SO fast!

22 weeks

Pregnancy Highlights

How Far Along: 22 weeks

Size of baby:  11 1/2 inches long. 1 lb

Maternity Clothes: Yes! 

Cravings: cucumbers and watermelon and baking (i've made cookies twice this week thank you pintrest!!)

Gender: It's a BOY!  we're SO close to coming up with a name! I'm pretty sure we have it- we're just giving it time to soak in.

Movement: He's goes from pretty quiet to moving constantly! my weird pregnancy dreams include something with my stomach which i attribute to him moving while i'm dreaming.

How's momma: I have not had a migraine since last tuesday night.  I have been doing yoga/hard stretching since last wednesday. And i've been feeling so good! i had no idea that i was so tight! I'm also looking into getting a prenatal massage with hopes of helping further! 

Best Moment this week Getting to celebrate my nephews xanders bday and getting to celebrate Tyler finishing his MASTERS!! WOO HOO!!

What I am looking forward to:  Next Week is my next Dr. Appointment.  I'm excited to see the little guy again and to connect with Dr. Hill.

Roman:  We've been trying to talk about babies and baby brother a lot to Rome.  He's started finding babies anywhere we go-  He's quick to find them and tell me there's one around.
