Lexington

In October, we went to Lexington to celebrate the life of Kerwin's wife Lois.  She had been battling lung cancer since he and Lois began dating and passed away in October.

We were so grateful for the time we were able to know her and to spend time with her.

Picture from their wedding:

The whole Dees clan went up to Lexington for a week.  We were able to be there for all of the events surrounding the funeral and to just spend time with each other and with Kerwin.

The visitation- it was so neat to see the influence that Lois had on her community.

Traveling with two boys was tricky for the 14 hour drive...
Sleepy boys:
Rome got little driving presents throughout the trip to keep things new.  His fave was spider man.
The hotel was great- had a huge pool with playing area.  For our crazy, wild kids this was a huge benefit!

Rome loved being one of the boys with his older cousins.  He hung in pretty well with their hard playing.

We were able to sneak away from it all and spend some time at a park after lunch.
