Fun with Ella
Wednesday, my good friend from college, Kelsey's daughter came over to play. Roman LOVED it. It was so cute to watch him just watch her! she was so kind to roman, always asking him if he'd share and treating him like a kid her age (almost 3). He'd just smile at her! My favorite moment was when he gave her a slobbery baby kiss and she looked at me and told me get the slobber off of her! hahah!! SO much fun! we can't wait to do it again soon!!
camp fire
Our last tuesday night was super laid back. It was nice to just watch TV and eat yummy burgers. Shelby, my sis called and we had a chance to talk awhile Mike, her husband, was in class and Ty was out hitting golf balls in our yard. After about 45 min or so I saw Ty comin in the house and going back ou a few times. I knew he was up to something :)
Roman fell asleep and Shelb and I talked for a bit more. Then at about 8 o'clock, Rome woke up and I said goodbye to shelb.
I looked out the window and I saw that TY had made us a campfire!! It meant so much to me because I've been talking A LOT about how much I miss the harvest smell when dad's in the combine and all. Ty was super intuitive because another thing we used to do a lot at home was have campfires in our fire pit. As we were sitting by the fire listening to dave barnes and pandora, I told ty how much this meant to me, he told me that he just wanted me to smell NE again :)
Have I told you lately that I have the best husband ever??
the stache
Every year, Ty's work has the NTDAW- which is basically a week long tribute to the truck drivers. During this week, some of the guys in his office have a beard contest. This is Tyler's second year doing the contest. Last year he got second- this year he won :) (woo hoo!!!) Part of his entry each year is a video, this year's video is at the end of the post. He included Roman in the video- here's the pics :)
first tie
Last Saturday we went to a wedding at our church. Roman wore the cutest outfit- jeans, white shirt, and a red tie, complete with socks that looked like shoes! TOO cute!! he's getting those top teeth in so he's not the happiest camper :) but I did get a few pics with daddy!

Swinging at the park
This week we went to the park a few times. I knew there wasn't much for Roman to do, but I knew he'd love being outside! Once we tried the swings, he was in love! Being outside AND swinging? I'm sure we could have made it all day out there!

Here's a couple of videos of him swinging (for gma)
Here's another video- this one is of Roman playing with Kauzie (again for gma but I think it's pretty cute how he's trying to play with the puppy!)
my favorite laugh is right at the beginning of the video- it makes my heart melt!

Tyler's-at-Grad-school meal of the week 4
Before I get to the meal, I have to share these aMazing Muffins that I made for Mothering Matters :)
Spiced Pumpkin Streusel Muffins
2 boxes spiced cake mix
1 can of pumpkin
streusel (optional):
1/4 c sugar
a few shakes of cinnamon
1/4 c flour
1/4 stick butter
you could also add some type of choc chip, vanilla chip (YUMMMMY!) to give it a little boost of flavor!
A hint I learned was that how the batter looks is how the muffins turn out- they don't plump much either- so smooth out the top!!
Here's a secret...
These muffins are weight watchers (don't tell! they don't tast like it!!)
this recipe makes 4 dozen and costs $4.00 that's about $.10 cents a muffin!
Today's meal while Tyler's done is JUST delicious. So far i'm 4 for 4 for loving the recipes i'm trying! ha!
Blue cheese pepper and zucchini salad.
1/2 cup lettuce
handful of croutons
1 T blue cheese sprinkles
1 T diced peppers (grilled)
1/2 diced zucchini (grilled)
ranch dressing
shredded chicken
1/2 piece of turkey bacon
salt and pepper to taste
SO good!!
